FAQ
Q: How do I know this is the right service for me? (Student)
A: If you're finding yourself overwhelmed in college, trying to figure out your major, career path, internships, leadership opportunities and excel when working with a long-term coach, this is the right service for you. We ultimately help streamline the career exploration journey and work alongside every step of the way, similar to a personal trainer! Ultimately you're driving, we're just helping steer towards your career goals.
Q: How do I know this is the right service for me? Have you hosted workshops before? (College & University)
A: Yes, we've hosted a number of personal and professional development themed workshops for various departments within Baruch College. The most recent workshops we've done with 25+ in attendance were centered around resume, mock interviews, internship and leadership opportunity search and networking best practices.
While the more traditional workshops are part of the services we offer, we really look to partner with different departments on campus (like career services) to host important workshops the school may not offer or is looking to outsource. For example, we've hosted workshops around how to leverage artificial intelligence to your benefit, how to think holistically like a CEO to thrive in your role, how to manage your manager, your managers manager (skip-level) and work towards a promotion, and how to capitalize on your internships and opportunities on campus, etc. Ultimately the goal is to help the college, where applicable, close the skills gap between students and employers to positively impact the schools brand and potentially jumpstart a long-term recruiting relationship between employers and the school. This is especially important in the 2023 turbulent market and reduction in workforce trend.

Q: What am I truly going to get out of this? What can you guarantee I’m going to get out of these sessions?
A: Realistically speaking, it's tough to guarantee a specific outcome, but what we can guarantee is that regardless of your interest and goals, we will build out a robust, tactical plan, make sizable headwinds towards that interest or goal and adjust our game plan in real-time to account for the uncontrollable variables that interfere with the journey. We're confident we can do this because we've found that regardless of what you want to pursue, the formula to achieve that goal looks very similar -- methodically and strategically planning it out and taking steps (with help) towards said goal.
Q: Can you share an example exercise and resource students would work through in the 1:1 coaching sessions?
A: Exercises and resources vary depending on the student we're working with but everyone always starts off with a questionnaire to learn more about students genuine skills and interests. This plays a major role in identifying a viable career path. We're also very keen on establishing a physiologically safe environment and learning more about general hobbies. We've found this really helps with productive collaboration. From there we transition into the more personalized coaching depending on the goals and needs of the student.
Q: Can you speak more to what truly differentiates your service?
A: Our niche is helping students identify their interest, building out a robust plan and helping students break into any industry of choice. Even if someone is interested in something "untraditional" like social media influencing, we map out a plan and see it through with you. We are a true development coach. Heavy emphasis on helping students identify interest because we don't start with the resume and mock interviews. First we just learn about your interests and passions to ideally find that balance between a job and something you really enjoy doing. From there we move to resume, mock interview prep etc.
It's also important to note, we're adamant about being a more boutique style firm. Nothing we do is transactional and we really don't prioritize operating at volume. Impact for us is how a student has quantifiably and quantitatively grown since collaborating with us.
Lastly, although our core is professional development, we also have different templates and resources for personal development as well. Example, if you want to find ways to build more of a social network on campus, we'll map out a plan to help you do this. We continue to work, be agile, and pivot when needed as you strive towards the goal. Example, figuring out what clubs on campus you can get more involved in, how to set up informal chats, etc. Professional is our focus but we're really a holistic, tailored, growth and development boutique firm genuinely focused on seeing people (students) evolve into a better version of themselves.
Q: Have you done career coaching previously?
A: Yes, primarily helped college students who now work at companies like Google, Deloitte, Meta, Goldman Sachs, etc! And what's awesome is we've coached across a number of different industries as well. Example, we've coached working professionals looking to pivot into another career, entrepreneurs looking to scale their business, and professionals applying to (and now attending) business school (NYU, MBA). We also managed interns at Google, all of whom accepted a full-time return offer post graduation.
Q: What if I don’t find the services helpful? How do I cancel?
A: That's the beauty of SRCG. If you don't feel you need any career guidance, simply cancel. Free of charge w/ 30 day notice. Never any contracts involved.
Q: Do you offer any interview guides, resume help, etc?
A: Yes, of course we do but we should be clear that we're not in the business to give you more information and let you navigate that on your own. We're offering a collaborative service that (like any coach) walks through the process with you each step of the way, pivoting in real time, addressing the different hurdles and challenges that come up.
Q: I have a busy schedule when will these calls take place?
A: Totally understandable. You'd simply work with Coach Drew to find a time you're able to connect. We have full confidence we'll be able to find some availability.
Q: How long is each session and how long is the partnership between me and SRCG?
A: Subscription holders get access to 4 monthly 30 minute virtual sessions, or calls. As for the partnership, it extends for as long as it takes for us to make strides towards and, to the best of our ability, achieve the goal we're working towards. Quality over Quantity.
Q: Where can we learn more?
A: Check us out on Instagram and LinkedIn, and book a consultation under the Book Online tab to connect.
Q: What's the meaning behind Solomon Rubik's?
A: Thanks for asking. Solomon is actually Drew's middle name. His sister blessed him with the name. Rubik's (Cube) to Drew is a metaphor for navigating life. The purpose of launching this company is really to be a human Rubik's Cube and help people (students) navigate their own Rubik's Cube of life.
